Do you know a girl between the ages of 8-13 years old? Are these girls interested in being a young entrepreneur? Are these girls motivated? If you answered yes to these questions, then the Zoe’s Dolls Girlpreneur Program might be a fit for them.
Girlpreneur is a pilot program that Zoe’s Dolls will be debuting January 2016. The program will accept 15 girls between the ages of 8-13 that have an interest in owning their own business. Girlpreneur will work with these girls for six months, using a kid based business curriculum designed to give these girls the foundation to starting their own business. During the program girls will learn how to formulate their business idea, develop a business plan, incorporate their business and design marketing plans. The girls will also be paired with business owners, whom will serve as mentors. At the end of the program, each girl will have incorporated and started their business. Each girl will also receive $500 towards the development of her business.
MEET ONE OF OUR GIRLPRENEUR BUSINESS MENTORS
Business Mentor LaTasha Bratton of What Next Global and Bratton Investment Group (B.I.G.)
LaTasha is the founder of What Next Global, Inc. (WNG) and the owner of Bratton Investment Group. WNG is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. WNG envisions the youth of underprivileged/undeveloped communities becoming the thriving force that eradicates impoverishment. WNG envision the youth actively taking responsibility for their future by addressing underlining factors that evoke continuous change. WNG:
- Promote projects that will encourage healthy lifestyles among youth
- Implement programs that will boost economic sustainability
- Develop activities to inspire youth to be contributors of their communities
It is because of WNG that Zoe’s Dolls is able to engage in its philanthropic activities. LaTasha started WNG because of her passion for global humanity.
In January ’05 LaTasha signed up to volunteer with the Institute for International Cooperation & Development (IICD). IICD is a 501(c)(3) organization that trains individuals to take part in development and community work projects in Africa, Central America and Brazil. LaTasha chose Chipata, Zambia to perform her volunteer work.
While in Chipata for more than four months, LaTasha witnessed firsthand the plight of the people of Chipata and the need for some type of program that assisted the community with economic self-sufficiency, community engagement and personal character building. It is that observation and longing to do more after her departure from Chipata that lead to the creation of What Next Global. While WNG was birthed out of a longing to do more on a global level, that passion also led her to initiate youth programs in the US as well.
A lot has happened in seven years, one being the birth of Zoe’s Dolls under the WNG umbrella. LaTasha has also been busy creating long lasting wealth through her multi-streams of income generating company, B.I.G.
Zoe’s Dolls and Girlpreneur is so lucky to have LaTasha as one of the business mentors. So if you know a girl that has a philanthropic passion and an interest in starting a non-profit send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. They could be selected to participate in this pilot program and have the opportunity to be mentored by LaTasha of What Next Global and Bratton Investment Group!
